Edith Aston-McCrimmon Lectureship |
This annual inspirational lecture is presented by a nationally or internationally known person, usually about a topic related to the field of rehabilitation. Our honoured speaker in 2024 is Prof. Mathew Mercuri, BKin, MSc, PhD, PhD, from McMaster University.听Prof. Mercuri completed doctoral studies in Health Research Methodology at McMaster University and in the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology at the University of Toronto. He holds appointments in the Department of Medicine, the Institute on Ethics & Policy for Innovation, and the Department of Philosophy at McMaster University, as well as other positions at U of T and the University of Johannesburg. May 2025 | Rehabilitation Research Colloquium and Shirley Metcalfe Memorial Lecture | Every year, 麻豆区 and Queen's University (Kingston, Ontario) host the best and the brightest for presentations on recent advances in research on rehabilitation. Final year Professional Program (OT and PT) students present their research projects, prior to the start of their last student placement during their final autumn at SPOT. The 2024 Lavigne-Smee Visiting Lecturer was Prof. Brenna Bath, PT, PhD. The title of her talk was,听Bridging access to rehabilitation care through research, leadership and advocacy, and addressed inequities in access to musculoskeletal care. |
