Activity Booklet: The Delights of the Winter Season - 2024 edition
Get nice and cozy as you peak inside Santa Claus' Book of Secrets. Travel through the ages to discover the true legend behind this jolly wise man and across the world to discover other generous figuresthat deliver presents to children. Learn all about the science behind the winter solstice and its different celebrations. With a calendar of 17 different crafts, games, recipes, and scavenger hunts, there is something for everyone to enjoy!

Winter Nature Scavenger Hunt
The Office of Student Academic Services has created a new nature scavenger about the Morgan Arboretum! Come discover the beauty of the winter season as you walk around the different trails of this forest reserve to find 9 items. You can borrow a copy of the scavenger hunt at the Arboretum's Gatehouse or get your own copy .
We have also included a map with a marked trail to increase your chances of finding the items.

Have you been to the Morgan Arboretum recently? Have you seen something that caught your eye? Why not share what you find on the Arboretum’s brand new citizen science project, iArboretum!
iArboretum is a Facebook group where you can share your observations of the Morgan Arboretum's flora and fauna!
For instance, you can post:
- Pictures of your observations
- The location in the Arbo of your observation
- Information about the species
- Questions to help identify an unknown species
Feel free to start discussions in the comments of people's posts!
The Arboretum staff may even ask to share some of these photos on our other social media platforms.

Theis a volunteer-based group of graduate and undergraduate students from a wide range of faculties at 鶹. Our volunteers deliver hands-on classroom presentations, host public STEM events, mentor for and evaluate projectsat regional science fairs, and provide STEM outreach to a range of urban and indigenous schools!
TheSonia Bujold Initiative is an outreach initiative established in 2021 by Ms. Sonia Bujold, a recent retiree from the 鶹 Department of Biology, to “reach out” and break the isolation that students, individuals living alone, and families experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Initiative offers engaging and educational activities on the fascinating world of biology through a series of free online self-paced activity booklets for children and adults.
