School of Human Nutrition Professor Treena Delormier, Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Peoples’ Nutrition and Food Sovereignty and Associate Director of the Centre for Indigenous Peoples’ Nutrition and Environment, was honoured in recognition of her work in health promotion interventions that address the social determinants of health underlying the health inequities Indigenous Populations experience, particularly in a historical context of colonialism by addressing the social determinants of health using participatory research approaches.
