Local Wellness Advisor

is Schulich's School of Music local wellness advisor

The Wellness Advisor for the Schulich School of Music is on leave.

Where can I go for help? How do I find out what services are available to me at the Student Wellness Hub?

When you’re not feeling well, finding the right resources can seem overwhelming. Luckily, the Access Advisors at the Hub can help you navigate resources both on and off campus. Access Advisors are mental health professionals who offer one-on-one wellness planning appointments. New access advising appointments are open daily and book 72 hours in advance. Sign up to meet with an Access Advisor.

It’s important to remember that many music students have access to more than one LWA. You can also reach out to a community LWA and book a one-on-one wellness appointment 2-3 weeks in advance. View the other LWA profiles and book an appointment.

鶹 students can book free teletherapy appointments with GuardMe. GuardMe counselors offer flexible scheduling, out-of-province care and provide services in several languages.

Finally, any door you reach is the right door. Some professionals can connect you to the care you need - just reach out by calling 514-398-6017.

What is an LWA?

For those who don’t know me or my role, I’m the Local Wellness Advisor (or LWA) at Schulich. LWA’s are trained mental health clinicians embedded within faculties and services to orient and connect students with the appropriate support resource - on-campus or off-campus - for their unique situation. LWAs also facilitate wellness programming tailored to the faculty or identified community and work with departments on wellness awareness, prevention and early intervention. We also offer targeted mental health workshops, wellness outreach and one-on-one appointments.
