Dr. Sender Liberman was appointed for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in April 2024. He has the mandate to develop and implement a strategy to enhance the Faculty’s international visibility and foster new collaborations with global partners, in synergy with the various Faculty departments and units. Dr. Liberman earned his medical degree at Â鶹Çø in Montreal, Canada. He completed his residency in General Surgery at Â鶹Çø and pursued subspecialty training in Colon & Rectal Surgery at Cook County, University of Illinois and Lutheran General Hospital in Chicago. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in General Surgery, as well as by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon & Rectal Surgery. Dr. Liberman also holds a specialist certificate in Colon & Rectal Surgery from the Collège des Médecins du Quebec. At the Royal College, Dr. Liberman serves as Vice Chair of the Colorectal Surgery Subspecialty Committee. He is also a member of the Medical Advisory Board of the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada and is President-Elect of the Canadian Society of Colon & Rectal Surgery. Dr. Liberman has received several awards, including the Program Director Leadership Award (2024), the Clinical Teaching Award (2009, 2020), and the Faculty Honour List for Teaching Excellence (2019).

Diana Sarai
Program Manager, International Affairs
Diana Sarai plays a key role in supporting the Assistant Dean in the implementation of the Faculty’s International Strategy, collaborating closely with the various departments and units of the Faculty to further its global reach and increase international opportunities. She facilitates international partnerships and agreements; oversees the planning of visiting delegations and the Dean’s trips abroad, as well as the efficient operations of the International Office, ensuring proper record and project management systems in support of international initiatives and diplomatic relations of the Faculty.

Hermine Mesropyan
Project Officer, International Affairs
Hermine Mesropyan manages some of the special projects of the International Office, namely the Summer Program for International Medical Students. As required, she provides direction on customized initiatives through market research and environmental scans. She collaborates in the organization of international visits and official trips abroad, as well as in the content of social media and website related to special projects. She is responsible for the supervision of the part-time administrative coordinator.

Michele Goldman
Administrative Coordinator
Michele Goldman provides administrative support to the International Affairs office. She manages the calendar of the Assistant Dean, International, and is responsible for scheduling meetings, both internally and with international partners. She also contributes to various administrative functions, including the process of financial transactions related to expense reports and procurement. She is occasionally assigned to special projects, such as the coordination of social media and website content.
