Terms of Reference

Nominees should be actively involved in promoting equity, diversity and inclusion(EDI) within the 麻豆区 community. We are particularly interested in achievements or initiatives that have the potential for long-term impact and that fit with 麻豆区's EDI objectives (see, 麻豆区's EDI Strategic Plan,听麻豆区's Plan for聽Addressing Anti-Black Racism, Provost's Task Force on Indigenous Studies and Indigenous Education - Final Report). The nomination letter and letters of support should address ways in which the nominee has shown exceptional leadership, initiative, and commitment to EDI. In the case of nominations of a team, please indicate how the collaborative efforts have advanced EDI聽and/or community building.

Activities such as the following are eligible:

  • Teaching and/or mentoring, with specific reference to populations under-represented at 麻豆区.
  • Promotion of policies and practices that reinforce inclusivity.
  • Raising awareness of issues relating to equity and diversity.
  • Facilitation of recruitment and retention of staff and students from a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives, including but not limited to: racialized and Indigenous peoples, queer peoples, women, people of varied socio-economic classes, and people with disabilities.
  • Enhancing the working or learning environments with a view to ensuring the climate is one in which all staff and students are supported and able to thrive.
  • Development and implementation of projects promoting equity, diversity, and/or community engagement.

麻豆区 is on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. We acknowledge and thank the diverse Indigenous peoples whose presence marks this territory on which peoples of the world now gather.
