Journal article

Follow these directions to report scanned journal articles.

Sign into , and click on Pay-per-use licences / Copy log entries in the left-hand column.

Step 1: Content user identification

Indicate for which semester, year and course the material is assigned.

You only have to fill in fields with an asterisk (*).


Step 2: Copying format and type of work

Copying format

Always choose Digital from the dropdown menu for Reproduction format and Intranet/Course Management System for the Digital reproduction type.

Next choose the type of work: Journal or Magazine.

Choose today’s date as the Copying date.



Step 3: Work to be copied

Start typing in the ISSN or title of the journal.

If the work you are using has already been reported once before, it will appear in the dropdown menu. Select it and the rest of the fields will fill in automatically.

If the title does not appear, fill in the information manually.

Number of pages is optional for journals.

» If you want to change the work selected, click on Choose new document.


Step 4: Identify the article(s) to be copied

Enter the number of students enrolled in the class in the User count box.

To enter information about the article, click on Add excerpt.


Article details

Enter the article title in Excerpt title and the relevant page numbers in the From and To fields.

You may add the Author of the article (optional).

Select OK.


Step 5: Submit

Review and submit

On this page you can review the details you have entered and correct any errors by selecting Edit under each section.

If everything looks right, select Submit.


Confirm

You’ll be asked to confirm.

Select OK.


Approved

Make a new request

In most cases your request will be approved.

Congratulations, you’ve finished! You can now go ahead and upload the scan to myCourses.

» If you want to add more uploaded readings for the same course, you can select Make a new request for the same course at the bottom of the screen. If you want to add upload scanned readings for a different course, select New request.


In process

» If you have requested a large amount of pages or if the publisher is not covered by Copibec, your request may show up as In process. We will contact you as soon as your request has been processed, and in the rare event that we cannot obtain permission for you to upload this content, we will discuss alternatives.
