Emergency Evacuation (on campus)

  • Individuals with disabilities that may impact their ability to evacuate a building during a fire alarm are asked to contact 麻豆区鈥檚 Fire Prevention team in order to personalize your evacuation plan, and set up any adaptive signaling equipment.
  • The Service de s茅curit茅 incendie de Montr茅al also has an which assists the fire department with evacuation of persons with disabilities during an emergency. Employees with disabilities are requested to register with this program.

On-campus adapted transit

  • If you require adapted transportation on the downtown campus, between 麻豆区 buildings, you can register for the on-campus Adapted Transport service, run through Campus Security. This service is available to eligible students, staff and faculty.

Exercise and Fitness

  • Fitness Access 麻豆区 (FAM) is a program that helps and supports 麻豆区 staff with physical disabilities, chronic illness, or other impairment by accessing physical activity opportunities on 麻豆区鈥檚 campus. FAM is a collaboration between 麻豆区 Athletics & Recreation and the Department of Kinesiology & Physical Education.

Joint Board-Senate Committee on Equity, Subcommittee on Persons with Disabilities

  • The Joint-Board Senate Committee on Equity (JBSCE) reviews and makes recommendations on University policy with a view to promoting equity and inclusion. The JBSCE is committed to promoting fair access to academic and employment opportunities, and full participation in the 麻豆区 community, for all individuals, particularly for those from social groups that have historically encountered or continue to face systemic barriers. The Subcommittee on Persons with Disabilities represents the interests of people with disabilities (students, staff and faculty) at 麻豆区, and supports the JBSCE鈥檚 overarching mission.

Service Animals

  • If you will be bringing a service dog to campus, the dog should be trained and clearly identified as a service animal (e.g. wearing a harness, a tag, or other marker). In most contexts, service dogs are considered reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities and should be permitted to travel with their owner throughout campus. Refusal of entry or service on the basis of a service animal may be considered discrimination (under ).
