Assistant Professor to Associate Professor |
Promotion from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor includes consideration for tenure and therefore falls under Section 7, Article 7.4 of the Regulations Relating to the Employment of Tenure Track and Tenured Academic Staff. Upon promotion, the staff member will receive a $7,500 increase applied to their base academic salary. A tenure schedule is prepared each summer in accordance with the Regulations and distributed to Departmental Chairs, Deans and candidates. Associate Professor to Full Professor |
The Regulations for the granting of promotion to Full Professor are contained in Section 8 of the Regulations Relating to the Employment of Tenure Track and Tenured Academic Staff. Effective June 1st, 2005, individuals promoted from Associate Professor to Full Professor, and who are part of the 2006 cohort and subsequent cohorts, will receive a flat increase of $7,500 to salary. For those staff promoted as part of the 2005 or earlier cohorts, there is no salary increase awarded on promotion to Full Professor. |
Assistant Librarian to Associate Librarian |

Upon promotion, the staff member will receive a $7,500 increase applied to their base academic salary. A tenure schedule is prepared each summer in accordance with the Regulations and distributed to the Dean of Libraries and candidates. |
Associate Librarian to Full Librarian |
The Regulations for the granting of promotion to Full Librarian are contained in Section 4 of the Regulations Relating to the Employment of Librarian Staff. Effective June 1st, 2005, individuals promoted from Associate Librarian to Full Librarian (tenure-stream), and who are part of the 2006 cohort and subsequent cohorts, will receive a flat increase of $7,500 to salary. For those staff promoted as part of the 2005 or earlier cohorts, there is no salary increase awarded on promotion to Full Librarian. |
Procedure
Academic Promotion ofÌýTenure-TrackÌý(Not to Full Professor)
Outside of Workday
- Candidate submits tenure dossier to the Chair of the Department.
- Department Tenure Committee reviews tenure dossier and makes recommendations to University Tenure Committee.
- University Tenure Committee reviews tenure dossier and submits to Secretariat.
- Secretariat confirms decision.
In Workday
- Academic Affairs Partner (Faculty) initiates the Change Job > Promotion
- Academic Affairs Partner (APO) will receive a step to Update the Academic Appointment
- Candidate receives Board of GovernorsÌýLetter through Workday.
