This project entails the creation of a simple and accessible video to explain exactly what is involved in Applied Student Research (ASR) Projects at Â鶹Çø. ASR projects use Â鶹Çø campus as a "living laboratory" to generate information about the state and potential improvements of sustainability at Â鶹Çø, and this video 1-2 minute video will succinctly and clearly describe the process, captivating interested students and explaining the mechanisms of project completion.

Applied Student Research (ASR) Projects at Â鶹Çø are fantastic opportunities for students to use the campus as a "living laboratory" and generate tangible and applicable information about the state and potential improvements of sustainability at Â鶹Çø. Indeed, successful ASR projects have already demonstrated areas where campus resources have been inefficiently used and provided solutios to be applied and institutionalized.
Unfortunately, the ASR process can seem complicated and discouraging to many students who could otherwise be prime candidates to complete a project. Despite many Â鶹Çø students being interested in gaining sustainability research experience, many are initially intimidated by the process and so do not pursue it further, decreasing the effectiveness of the current ASR frameworks in place. In order to open up the Vision 2020 ASR goal to the widest possible audience, increasing student awareness is essential.
Funding from the SPF has been granted to produce a 1-to-2 minute video which will succinctly and clearly describe the process of conceptualizing an ASR Project, getting in touch with the people and resources needed to complete its steps, and showcase the many mechanisms for project completion that already exist on campus of which many students are unaware.
The team behind the video are veterans of the ASR Project process who realized through the experience that many academic fields are underrepresented or unaware of the resources at their disposal to execute successful ASR projects. As such, they have taken it upon themselves to produce thisÌý short informational video and increase ASR awareness, generating many more relevant projects to further Â鶹Çø's sustainability goals.
