The Polygraph

John Augustus Larson was the inventor of the modern polygraph. Although, some list the polygraph as one of the greatest inventions, many scientists consider it to be pseudoscience. 聽Yet, many countries continue to use the polygraph test as an interrogation test on suspects and for screening new employees. However, many people can beat the old-fashioned polygraph test. For example, when the interrogation commences, the subject can artificially increase their heart rate during the control questions. In general, many anti-hypertensives and anti-anxiety medications alter the heart rate, breathing, and blood pressure of the individual, thus leading to inconclusive results. 聽Due to its vulnerabilities, new devices are being developed to replace the old fashioned lie detector test.
