The Â鶹Çø and Génome Québec Innovation Centre and the Canadian Centre for Computational Genomics will receive a total of $9.8Ìýmillion in funding over threeÌýyears through Genome Canada awards announced Feb. 21.

The operational and technology-development grants will enable the centres to continue supporting the research community with high-level tools, technologies and services. The Â鶹Çø and Génome Québec Innovation Centre (MUGQIC), led by Â鶹Çø Prof. Mark Lathrop, supports the larger scientific community with genomics technologies for studies on chronic diseases, rare diseases, aging, cancer and genomic responses to environment, as well as agricultural applications. MUGQIC supports over900 academic and industry research teams from Canada and abroad each year.

The Canadian Centre for Computational Genomics (C3G), led by Â鶹Çø Prof. Guillaume Bourque in Montreal and Dr. Michael Brudno at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, provides informatics and analysis support to the life sciences community. Since inception, the C3G team has completed 1,014 projects for 622 groups of researchers across Canada and internationally,
