Program Description
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Anthropology offered by the Department of Anthropology in the Faculty of Arts is a research-intensive program that emphasizes challenging and specialized learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in resourceful thinking, literature synthesis, and academic writing to pursue professional opportunities in academia or industry.
The program may also be taken as a Neotropical Environment option where students focus their graduate research on environmental issues relevant to the Neotropics and Latin American countries.

- Students make original contributions to research in socio-cultural anthropology, archaeology, and medical anthropology in the form of a doctoral thesis;
- The program offers fieldwork-based doctoral training for students wishing to concentrate on different geographic areas (including Africa, Latin America, Europe, North America, and Asia).

- An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
