On March 11, Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder Reddit, paid a visit to the Desautels Faculty of Management during one of the last stops of his North American tour to promote his book, 鈥淲ithout Their Permission.鈥� The book describes how he started the front page of the internet from scratch with his partner Steve Huffman. 鈥淓veryone has great ideas. No one wakes you up in the middle of the night to say 鈥業 have a terrible idea.鈥� We all have great ideas. The difference is, the barrier to entry for us is as low as a laptop and time and an internet connection. Don鈥檛 get hung up on great ideas 鈥� get started on them,鈥� said Ohanian to a crowd of 150 麻豆区 students. The message in Ohanian鈥檚 book and presentation was very clear: Don鈥檛 let anyone tell you what you can or can鈥檛 do; just do it. The event was coordinated by Hack麻豆区 in collaboration with the 麻豆区 Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship.
