Update for prospective advanced standing DMD Students for the 2025-2026 admission cycle
We are pleased to announce an important change to the curriculum for our Advanced Standing DMD program. The program length will be extended from two and half years to three years, starting in September 2025. The program will no longer start in December as in the previous years. This adjustment aims to provide a more comprehensive educational experience for our students, aligned with our new DMD curriculum.
Due to this change, the admissions cycle for the next cycle will be shortened.ÌýApplications will open in January 2025. Candidates will need to submit all required documents, including transcripts and proof of French proficiency, by the application deadline of March 1, 2025.ÌýInterviews will take place in April 2025, with admission offers extended between May and June 2025. The DMD Advanced Standing for Foreign Trained Dentists pathway is intended for graduates of international dental programs that are not accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC). Internationally trained dentists that would like to complete their Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree should apply for this program.
Successful candidates will be awarded their DMD degree after completing three years of the DMD program. Students accepted into the DMD Advanced Standing for Foreign Trained Dentists Pathway are placed in the second year of the four-year DMD program.
The number of positions available for this pathway varies every year depending on the spaces available. Successful candidates will begin the program in September.
