About Majid Babaei

Majid Babaei holds a Ph.D. in Computing with a focus on Software Engineering from the School of Computing at Queen's University. Majid’s research interests lie in the development of techniques for model-level debugging and testing of software systems. He is a member of the Professional Development Committee at the (CAUCE), as well as he serves on the Strategic Planning Committee of the School of Continuing Studies at Â鶹Çø.

Majid actively fosters partnerships between academia and industry, ensuring that educational programs remain aligned with the evolving needs of the professional landscape. His on "Regression Testing of Distributed Real-Time Embedded Systems in the Context of Model-Driven Development" provides a comprehensive overview of the primary challenges for performing regression testing in large-scale distributed systems. It also offers promising solutions for these challenges that can be adopted by tech. industries to improve the performance of their testing strategies.

About Nabil Beitinjaneh

Nabil Beitinjaneh is a consultant and trainer with more than 25 years of experience in strategy development, business intelligence, project management, systems and process engineering spanning both the corporate and the entrepreneurial world.

Nabil is known for his ability to mobilize individuals and to grow teams in turbulent and undefined environments. His professional corporate experience includes Nortel and CGI, where he has held positions of increasing responsibility and has been involved in the area of business intelligence and data analytics. As an entrepreneur, he supported the growth of several businesses through strategy consulting and business development. He has lived in North America, Asia and Africa and is experienced with intercultural negotiations and bridging geographies. Nabil holds an Executive MBA from Concordia University, in addition to his degree in Electrical Engineering (computers) from Â鶹Çø.

Nabil is curious and a life-long learner who loves to share his knowledge and experience through teaching. Currently, he is a program coordinator for Data Science and Data Analytics programs at the School of Continuing Studies, as well as a course instructor at Concordia University’s Centre for Continuing Education.

Nabil is actively engaged in the community through his work at Le centre Culturel Syrien, which focuses on helping newcomers to Montréal in their integration, and in alleviating the suffering of those impacted by the conflict in Syria.

About Alejandro Gutierrez Lopez

Alejandro Gutierrez Lopez, Ph.D., has more than fifteen years of experience in Information Technology projects working for companies in Mexico, Sweden, Iceland, and Canada. His fields of expertise include data science, project management, simulation models, and software systems.

Alejandro is a faculty lecturer at the School of Continuing Studies, where he teaches multiple courses in business analytics and data science. He holds a Ph.D. in Project Management from the University of the Basque Country in Spain, a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship from Lund University in Sweden, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Monterrey in Mexico. Alejandro holds several professional certifications including, Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), certified Microsoft Excel Expert, as well as Certification in Business Data Analytics (IIBA®- CBDA) and Certificate in Product Ownership Analysis (IIBA®-CPOA).

About Elisa Schaeffer

Elisa is a Finnish mathematical computer scientist with a keen interest in computational intelligence. Her research jumps around the potential applications of graph theory and machine learning, touching areas such as social sciences, medicine, economics, and forestry. She is passionate about digital learning, real-time and asynchronous, and an early adopter of emerging software and hardware solutions to facilitate teaching and research, especially open-source solutions.
